The problems associated with Lake Sakakawea and the Missouri River due to drought, "are a tough deal," Hoeven noted. He said the revisions in the Army Corps of Engineers' Missouri River Master Manual are a step in the right direction and would have been particularly effective if implemented when the drought began five years ago.

Several comments by the media have hailed the Lewis and Clark signature event in Bismarck as a huge success. Supposedly, 40,000-plus people attended. Unfortunately, the lack of communication resulted in a dismal failure of the most expressive display during the weeklong event.
